Will you join my Quest for 50s by 50th?

About Me: Originally from Poland, I live in Atlanta, GA, and work remotely as a Math & Science Teacher. I love Adventure, Traveling the World  & Making a Difference. My passion for cycling, and volunteering goes back to my childhood, seeing my grandmother biking everywhere, actively participating in church, and helping the community we lived in.

May 2023 • Cali to Carolina Cross Country Ride

What is my Quest for 50s by 50th?

Before turning 50, I'm taking on a challenge to visit 50 countries (completed with 3 extra), all 50 U.S. states (7 remaining), perform 50,000 push-ups (about 160 daily), and raise $50,000 for good causes. You can dive into the full story behind my journey in Jojo's Quest for 50s by 50th.

What did I undertake for my latest ride?

As part of my Quest for 50s by 50th, I recently completed another epic bicycle ride with The Fuller Center for Housing. Following my 2023 ride from San Diego, CA to Wilmington, NC, I cycled another 4,000 miles across the entire USA this past summer—this time through the Northern states! Along the 10-week journey from Seaside, OR to Portland, ME (May 28 – August 9, 2026), our team completed 6 build days, stopping along the way to help build and repair homes for 10 families and seniors in need. Click here for the photo album from our volunteer build days.

What’s the Fuller Center for Housing?

A 501(c)(3) ecumenical Christian organization that believes everyone in the world deserves the opportunity to have a decent home in which to live.

It builds and repairs homes using volunteers in partnership with families, who help with the work and pay it forward using a no-profit, no-interest loan that gets repaid to help more families.

It works through a grassroots network of volunteer-driven Fuller Centers in 90 U.S. towns and cities and in 20 countries around the world. Work includes community transformation in El Salvador, Armenia and Madagascar to disaster recovery in places like Mayfield, Kentucky and in Haiti to name a few.

It built or repaired over 9,000 homes – enough to house 30,000 people!

What happens to your donation?

The Fuller Center is known for maximizing donations by putting as much of the funds towards the work as possible. Their independent audit estimated that 92% of the funds go directly to program expenses, with only 8% to administrative and fundraising costs. This is a MUCH higher percentage to program than most groups given that the industry standard is 65% to program. The organization is also rated GuideStar Platinum, the charity evaluator's highest certification.

Fuller Center Build Day • July 7, 2023 • Joplin, MO

During the ride we live very simply, sleeping on the floors of gracious and generous church hosts, resulting in only about 2-3% of the funds raised helping to cover Bike Adventure expenses on the road.

2023 Cali to Carolina Ride • Indoor Camping

I joined the 100% Club — so all my ride’s donations can go to the mission!
