Greetings friends and family!

I’m getting ready to join in (yet another!) epic bicycle ride with The Fuller Center for Housing (FCH) coming up in April 2026! This ride will be a one-week journey (17-26 April) on the Silver Comet trail (starting/ending near Atlanta GA and running into Jacksonville AL) and will also involve two workdays on homes for a Fuller Center "Legacy Project" . I will also be riding the Natchez Trace route this year in October.  This route has been lengthened by two days (8-18 October) to allow us bikers to travel the entire trace which ends in the city of Natchez MS. I'm so excited to re-visit the hosting church members I initially met on this ride in 2023... such greacious hosts!... and to contribute efforts on ongoing housing builds along this route.

My big "ask"...

I'm asking you to prayerfully consider helping me reach my $3,300 fundraising goal for the year.  I've pledged $1,500 for Silver Comet ride and $1,800 for the Natchez Trace ride.  Please know that my personal expenses for these trips have already been paid, so none of your donation goes into my pocket. The entire amount of your donation will go directly to the Fuller Center for Housing towards building new homes in the U.S. and overseas, and for repairing homes damaged due to natural disasters. The FCH folks are VERY good at making just a few dollars do a LOT of good!

Why I'm doing this ride:

This is a perfect fit for me: stay fit (by riding my bike) while helping people (by funding and slinging my hammer).  I've also found great joy in becoming part of this incredible tribe of volunteers-on-bikes who pedal and sling hammers (like me!) to make huge, life-changing impacts for families truly in need of affordable housing.

So what is the Fuller Center for Housing (FCH)?

A 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian organization that believes everyone in the world deserves the opportunity to have a decent home in which to live. Millard and Linda Fuller were self-made millionaires who gave away their fortune in 1969 to follow God's leading. They lived the rest of their lives on humble means and dedicated themselves to providing decent housing to over a million people in 100 countries around the world, culminating in their founding of the Fuller Center for Housing in 2005.

The FCH builds and repairs homes using volunteers in partnership with families, who help with the work and pay it forward using a no-profit, no-interest loan that gets repaid to help more families. It works through a grassroots network of volunteer-driven Fuller Centers in 90 U.S. towns and cities and in 20 countries around the world. Work includes community transformation in El Salvador, Armenia and Madagascar to disaster recovery in places like Mayfield, Kentucky and in Haiti to name a few. What happens to my donation?

The Fuller Center for Housing is known for maximizing donations by putting as much of the funds towards the work as possible. Their independent audit estimated that 92% of the funds go directly to program expenses, with only 8% to administrative and fundraising costs. This is a MUCH higher percentage to program than most groups given that the industry standard is 65% to program. The organization is also rated GuideStar Platinum, the charity evaluator's highest certification.

During the ride we live very simply and sleeping on the floors of gracious and generous church hosts. This approach to "living simply" allows FCH to use only about 2-3% of the funds raised to cover Bike Adventure expenses on the road.

In case you might be interested in coming along, each ride requires crucial support volunteers and media interns (and often more riders!). But besides that, your encouragement and your prayers for health, safety, and a great team would be dearly appreciated.
